Volunteer Program

The library needs its Friends, and the Friends need volunteers! If you would like to help with the Book Sale, Fiesta, or other Friends projects, please Become A Friend and check "Yes" to be contacted about volunteering. You could also join in on a Friends Board meeting for more information.

The Friends Board usually meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6:00p.m. in the Library meeting room. Dates may vary to avoid holidays and other conflicts. The board is not scheduled to meet in January.

Who wants to be a Friend?

Public libraries rely on their Friends groups to:

  • Act as Library Ambassadors in their communities
  • Serve as library advocates before the governing bodies that pull the purse strings and pass the laws that affect libraries and library services
  • Extend the services the library provides through their fundraising and volunteer efforts

Why do I need to be a Library Friend?

  • The opportunity to participate beyond borrowing materials and attending programs
  • The opportunity to have a greater voice in the programs, collections and services the library provides
  • The opportunity to meet and get to know other readers and library supporters
  • The opportunity to take advantage of special member benefits, such as receipt of the Friends' newsletter and participation in the annual meeting.
